You are Invited

A new command I give you: Love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  John 13:34

As the year draws to a close you are invited to look back and consider which relationships have given you the greatest challenge this year.

How do you feel about those people in your life who are difficult for you to like, never mind to love?

How do you feel, at the end of the year, trying to see those people with fresh eyes in the coming New Year?

In the light of Jesus’ words in today’s verse what help do you need from Him to love these people?

Spend some time today sharing your deepest feelings.

If you can, go back to the cause of the problem.

If you are unable to do this alone, then seek help from a mature Christian friend who can walk with you through this time.

Ask Jesus for forgiveness – to be given and received – and begin this New Year with a fresh determination to love.

May God bless you as you take the first steps to follow His command in this coming year.

About Mandy Hackland

My love in life is to encourage others to deepen their relationship with God. I write devotional material, stories and small group studies with that in mind. I live in South Africa and also love spending time in the bush, bird watching and walking. I do live in the city but make the most of the green spaces that surround me.
