You are Invited

After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash His disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around Him.  John 13:5

Today you are invited to consider how difficult you find it when someone serves you.  What would your reaction be if someone knelt before you with a towel wrapped around their waist to wash your feet?  What would you say to them?  What would you say to Jesus if it was Him kneeling in front of you?  Jesus’ reply, when Peter objected, was ‘Unless I wash you you have no part with Me.‘ (John 13:8)  What would He say to you in response to your comments?  Often, as Christians, we are so used to serving others that we are not at ease with being served.  What is God saying to you about this today?

May God bless you with the grace to receive the gift of another’s service today.

About Mandy Hackland

My love in life is to encourage others to deepen their relationship with God. I write devotional material, stories and small group studies with that in mind. I live in South Africa and also love spending time in the bush, bird watching and walking. I do live in the city but make the most of the green spaces that surround me.
