You are Invited

Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, ‘Listen and understand.  What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.’  Matthew 15:10-11

Today you are invited to consider the words you use.  Are they words that encourage and build up or can they hurt and break down?  Is the language you use clean or does it cause damage?  When you are talking to your own peers, do you use language that your would use in front of your children?  How often do you use the name of God in vain?  What would it take to change the way you speak and make your words positive rather than negative?  Does it mean a change or heart or a change of mind; or even a change in the way you relate to various people and to God?  How can you speak words of encouragement to those you meet today?

May God bless you as you consider your words; and may you give and receive encouragement in all your interactions with others today.

About Mandy Hackland

My love in life is to encourage others to deepen their relationship with God. I write devotional material, stories and small group studies with that in mind. I live in South Africa and also love spending time in the bush, bird watching and walking. I do live in the city but make the most of the green spaces that surround me.
