Recently I have been praying that the daily ‘You are Invited’ posts will reach further than they have been up to now.
So many of you write to me to say how God uses them in your life. And I am blessed by that. But the people who read them are few, even though I believe God has encouraged me to continue to write every weekday.
So I have been wondering why He does not spread them further afield. But then it struck me.
Gradually, as I have been writing, I have begun to be familiar with the composition of the posts.
Choose a Scripture verse
Write a few questions,
Give it some tags and categories so people can find it if they are searching the net,
Add a blessing
Launch it at due time and day so one goes out every weekday.
But one thing was missing.
I had stopped consulting God.
So first, I want to say I have confessed this to the Lord and asked for His forgiveness. And He, in His grace, has given me that.
Now, I want to confess it to you and ask for your forgiveness. Many posts (although perhaps not all) have gone out because I chose the verse and thought it would be a good one to use. I am sorry.
As a result, I have put a question to Jesus and have listened to His reply.
‘What do You want me to do in 2018 for the ‘You are Invited’ posts? ‘
You may have noticed, over the last couple of weeks, the posts have been taken from John’s Gospel. It seems to me that God wants us to look at these verses, certainly in the early part of the Gospel, if not all of it. So I am listening to Him, trying to use the questions He is guiding me to ask, opening the door for Him to touch lives.
This is His blog. It sounds strange to read those words. But each post is written for Him. I have gone astray, but He has called me home, and I pray that the posts in the next days will be meaningful and relevant to you as you seek His face and draw closer to Him.
And may His Word and His message for His people spread far and wide.
God bless you – thank you for following ‘Discovering the Rainbows’.
Dearest Mandy Thank you for sharing this with your blog readers. I know God will bless your work. Next Tuesday I am leading a bible study on John 6… so it’s wonderful to know that you are writing on the early chapters of John. I am not used to running a bible study so any prayers next Tuesday will be brilliant.10.00-12.00 UK time. Much love and hugs Jillx
