They came to John and said to him, ‘Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan – the one you testified about – look, he is baptising and everyone is going to him.’ John 3:26
Today you are invited to consider this situation. John’s disciples were indignant that ‘that man’ was stealing John’s thunder. But ‘that man’ was Jesus Christ. How wrong could they be? How does this verse encourage you to stop and think twice before coming to quick conclusions about what you see happening around you? How quick are you to condemn others for doing things in different ways to your way? What is Jesus saying to you through this verse today? And how will you respond?
