The Samaritan woman said to Him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.) John 4:9
Today you are invited to consider how you deal with a rebuff such as the one the Samaritan woman gave Jesus. Would you give up at once and turn away? Or would you persist? How would you feel if someone from a different nationality or generation or culture asked you for a drink? What would your response be? Ask God to make you aware of how you respond to ‘the foreigner’ in your world – what changes, if any, does He want you to make?
May God bless you with an awareness of His love for all people, whether they know and acknowledge Him or not today.
