Celebrate with me!
Yesterday, I wrote my 1000th blog post! Yes, this is #1002 (for I published 1001 earlier this morning). That amazes me!
Why do I do it? How have I managed to write all that stuff on a continuous basis for the last four years or so?
Well, one of the reasons is that I love it. I love speaking about Jesus and exploring His word to me and to the world. If through these words, God can encourage one person to turn to Him for one moment then I am content.
Then I love the connection it gives me with people around the world. I have readers (admittedly sometimes only once) who have read the words God has given me in five of the six continents (still waiting for someone in Antarctica to log in!)
(I would add a laughing emoji here if I could understand the instructions to do so – please take it as read!)
And then, of course, I believe God is asking me to do this. Through the internet, His word can be sown by ordinary sowers like me. My only qualifications are that I love Jesus and He has given me the gift of writing. So I use the two together to follow His Great Commission – ‘Go and make disciples’.
It is exciting when I have a response from a reader, wherever they may be in the world. It is a joy to know that God is using this simple blog to touch others’ lives. It is humbling too. For not much that I write is my own. Rather it is given to me as the Lord Jesus inspires me. How awesome is that?
I am so thrilled you are reading my blog. Thank you for your interest. I pray that the words posted here and in the next 1000 posts will touch your life and invite you to draw closer to Jesus, your Lord and Saviour.
