“The One who enters by the gate is the Shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for Him, and the sheep listen to His voice. He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out.” John 10:2-3

Today you are invited to consider whether you recognise the voice of the Good Shepherd when He calls you by name. How do you hear the voice of Jesus? How do you know which way to go when He calls you to follow Him? What does it sound like, look like, feel like? If you have trouble recognising His voice, ask Him to help you to do so. Then listen. Maybe there will be a certain tone in a thought; a fluttering in your stomach; a heat in your hands; or maybe it will just be a certainty deep inside you that you know He has spoken to you. Give Him the opportunity to do so. Don’t rush away but sit and listen. What does He say to you today?

May God bless you with His voice, in whatever way He plans for you to hear Him today.

  1. This is wonderful advice. Just today I sat in my backyard alone, just watching the sunset and praying. As a new Christian, I’m not sure how to recognize His voice, but I am trusting and patient 🙂

Thanks for sharing and God bless,
