“My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for Me and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.” John 13:33
Today you are invited to consider how you feel (would feel) when a family member or close friend tells you they are leaving and you cannot go with them. This may be for a holiday, a new home, or a fatal illness. What is the strongest sensation you experience? Do you want to cling on to them or are you able to let them go? Do you experience feelings of abandonment, rejection, sadness, anger? The disciples did not understand at this point in time, that Jesus would return. We know He has. What do you want to say to Him today about His living presence with you – made possible because He went where none of us could follow – even as you are left behind by your family or friends.
May Jesus bless you when you have to say goodbye to those you love with a deep awareness of His living presence with you – always.
