Lord Jesus

I am not sure if I have posted this before. It is possible, but I do not have time, this week, to search for it. (I tend not to write such rhyming verse these days but this is all part of my growth as a writer and poet.) I am putting together a collection of poetry that I have written over the years to publish in four small volumes, so here is a taste for you. This one will be included in a booklet entitled Poetry of Praise. I pray you may enjoy it and it may bless you.

Lord Jesus, I thank You for the Scripture last night.

The words You spoke were true, the sentiments were right.

For me it is the time to build my life anew

To stop all that is mine and think only of You.

Lord Jesus, forgive me for all the times that I

Have failed to really see my sins, and that is why

I fall again and lose my close contact with You –

If I ever had to choose that’s a thing I’d never do.

Lord Jesus, I am sorry that I hurt You each day.

I always seem to worry and I often lose the way.

But now I always know that You are ever there

Your way’s the way to go; Your love’s the love to share.

What glory in Your caring; what love in perfect peace;

What happiness in sharing; these wonders never cease.

Lord Jesus, please do guide me so I can follow You.

I feel You here beside me in everything I do.
