How are you? Honestly, truly, how are you? Think about it for a moment. How are you feeling – about your health, your family, your relationships, your future, your prospects?
How are you feeling about what you have done in the past? The mistakes you have made? The people you may have hurt or who have hurt you? Those you have loved and lost?
How are you feeling about your now? What is happening in your life to give you joy or make you uneasy? What is going on for you today? Does it shine for you or does it make the present look dark?
And what about the future? What is happening on the work front? How assured are you of your income, your security, your family?
That’s a lot of questions – and you may be wondering why I am asking you to consider these things today. But you see, life is uncertain at the moment. None of us know from day to day what the future will bring. Even what the next half hour will bring. Only one thing is certain, unchangeable, unshakeable.
God’s love for you.
Nothing can change God’s love – for you. Whether you acknowledge Him or not, whether you follow Him or not, whether you even think about Him or not, God loves you. And He holds your past, your present and your future in the palm of His hand, close to His heart.
No matter what you have done or how your relationships are going; nor what has happened yesterday or even in this moment. No matter what will happen tomorrow. God loves you. And He wants you to know that.
He is close to you. All you have to do is whisper His name. Jesus. Jesus. And He will be there, holding out His arms for you, prepared to do everything you need to calm your troubled heart.
How do I know this? Because Jesus has done this every day for me for many years. In good times and bad He has been there for me. He has encouraged, guided, comforted and loved me. He has never let me down. He never changes.
So I can assure you He will do the same for you. Why struggle alone? Why not call His name now and ask Him to give you the security or healing or love you so crave.
Call Him. Whisper His name. Jesus, Jesus.
Scriptures to ponder
Revelation 3:20 (Jesus says) Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with Me.
Matthew 7:7-8 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
