The fishermen had been fishing all night without success. Jesus uses one of their boats to give Him a little distance from the crowd so they can both see and hear Him. Then He turns to one of the fishermen and says:

Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.‘ Luke 5:4

Today you are invited to consider how you would respond to such a command. Peter objects. He has been trying all night and believes such an attempt would be useless. What have you been trying to accomplish for a long time – a relationship that needs healing, a task that needs completion, a difficult person who needs loving, a financial situation that needs funds? What is Jesus saying to you through His words today? How do you feel about what you are hearing? Speak to Him about this. Maybe He will suggest something that seems to be impossible, or that does not make sense. Trust Him and follow His lead. Make a note of what happens as a result. It may well lead to the break through you have been waiting for.

May God bless you with such a break through today. And may you be aware of His hand on the situation in the days ahead.
