You are Invited

Matthew is in his booth, collecting taxes from the people. He is unpopular. Tax collectors worked for Rome and it was accepted that they would benefit from their work. Jesus walks past and sees him.

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. “Follow Me,” Jesus said to him, and Levi got up, left everything and followed him. Luke 5:27-28

Today you are invited to consider what you left behind when you responded to Jesus’ call for you to follow Him. Perhaps it was work, or a sport, or some activity or addiction. Maybe it was family or friends. How did your life change when you made the decision to follow Jesus? What did others say about your decision? What changes do you still struggle with – or what have been miracles? How do you share your story with others? Who can you tell today?

May God bless you as you continue to follow Jesus and may He strengthen and encourage you when the path gets rough.
