You are Invited

That night Jesus attended a party that was thrown by Matthew in his home for all his friends. They were a mixed bunch. Scripture describes them as ‘tax collectors’ and ‘sinners’. Of course the Pharisees and teachers of the law were not impressed and challenged Jesus as to why He was eating and drinking with such people. Jesus replied:

It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Luke 5:31-32

Today you are invited to consider what area of your life holds you back from following Jesus fully, with a glad heart and a joyful spirit. What dark secret do you hide from others? Where do you feel you are not good enough? How do you feel unworthy? This may not be you, and you may be at peace with who you are, but if it is you, read Jesus’ words again. What is He saying to you today? Speak to Him about the things that hold you back from the joy that following Him brings, in spite of our circumstances, and ask Him to help you understand that you are healed, forgiven and most of all, loved by Him.

May God bless you with whatever kind of healing you need at this time.
