Jesus is preaching His Sermon on the Mount. He now says to the people:
Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Luke 6:21
Today you are invited to look around you. Who do you see who is hungry? How do you respond to those who are hungry and who beg on the streets? Maybe you live in a country where this doesn’t happen but from what is evident in the media is that many places have set up food banks. What is Jesus saying to you through these words? Is they blessing for you, or is He asking you to be the blessing? How can you help? Through prayer; through working to collect or distribute food; through financial aid; or by being a blessing to satisfy some other kind of hunger – the hunger of loneliness, despair, grief – what Is Jesus asking you to do today?
May God bless you with His response to your questions and may you be a source of a meal to those who are hungry today.
