You are Invited

If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Luke 6:30

Today you are invited to consider how you respond to someone who speaks or acts against you. Are you immediately defensive? Do you attack? Do you talk about them in other places and speak against them? Or do you do as Jesus suggests in this verse? What does He mean? What is happening in your life at the moment where He would prefer a gentle response rather than an aggressive or angry one? How would that affect the situation? How do you feel about responding in this way? Speak to Jesus about any struggles you may be having in this regard and listen for His reply.

May God bless you with gentleness, kindness, understanding and whatever else you may need in difficult situations where people attack you or speak against you.
