Jesus addressed the crowd after John’s disciples left asking them why they went out into the desert. What were they looking for? He ended His questions in this way:

A prophet? Yes, I tell you, andmore than a prophet. This is the one about whom it is written: ‘I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’ Luke 7:26-27

Today you are invited to consider what you look for when you go to a Christian event, whether physically or virtually. Are you seeking spiritual mount top experiences, or healin or sensation? Or are you seeking Jesus? What helps you to draw closer to Him Have you found yourself drifting away from Him in the hard times? Spend time with Him today. Ask Him to draw you close again. Follow His lead; do as He says; and allow Him to love you.
