Jesus turned to the woman who had anointed Him in the Simon, Pharisee’s house. He said to Simon:
Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. Luke 7:44-46
Today you are invited to consider hospitality. How hospitable are you? How willing are you to open your home, your hands, your heart to those in need? Who do you relate most easily with – Simon, the Pharisee – or the woman? Where do you struggle to be hospitable? Who do you struggle to welcome? How do you show people are welcome in your home, your life, your affections? What is Jesus saying to you through His words today, and how do you respond?
May God bless you with the ability and willingness to both be hospitable and accept hospitality.
