Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Luke 8:18a

Today you are invited to do just this. How do you listen? Are you focused on what is being said or do you plan your response or think of a story to top the one you are hearing? Do you make sure you understand what is being said? Does the person who is speaking feel heard? And how does this compare to how you listen to God? What do you do when you are trying to hear His voice? Do you read His word, close your Bible and get on with your day? Do you refer back to Him during the day? Do you sit and wait until you have a reply? What is God saying to you about how you are listening to Him – and to others? Listen. Listen to Him today. His words may surprise you.

May you be able to spend time with God today just listening. And may He bless you in what He says to you.
