You are Invited

From time to time, Jesus took His disciples to a place where they could be alone. On one occasion He asked them who people thought He was. He then followed up their answers:

Who do the crowds say I am? … But what about you? Who do you say I am?’ Luke 9:16, 20

Today you are invited to consider how you would answer this question. What would you say to Jesus if He asked you Himself? And what would you say to a family member, friend or colleague if they asked you? Would you answer in the same way to all who ask? Think of a few people you know. Name them before Jesus and consider how you would answer that specific person. If you are not sure – because of the relationship you have for them, or their own firmly held beliefs, or their feelings about the church – or because you do not know them very well, ask Jesus to tell you how to respond. Then be alert for conversations when you are ready with your answer : Who do you say Jesus is?

May God bless you with opportunities to share Christ with those around you in the days ahead and may He give you the words to say that will impact their lives and grow His kingdom.
