You are Invited

Jesus gave some strange instructions:

Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road. Luke 10:4

Today you are invited to consider how you would feel if Jesus had said this to you. Do you go anywhere without your purse or your wallet? Do you ever go on a trip with just one pair of shoes? Do you walk past people on the road without greeting them? Would you be able to trust Jesus enough to follow His commands? What would be the most difficult of these commands to follow for you? Why do you think this is so? Talk to God about any problems you may have and ask Him to help you trust Him when He asks difficult things of you. It may not be travelling without a bag or shoes, or not greeting people as you go, but there may be other specific commands that are as challenging. How does this conversation help you?

May God bless you with all you need as you follow His specific commands – even if they do seem to be strange.
