The seventy two disciples return jubilant at what has been accomplished. Jesus says to them:
I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome al the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are writtten in heaven. Luke 10:18-20
Today you are invited to consider that, whatever happens in your life, or whatever you accomplish for Jesus, He instructs you, His followers, to rejoice because your names are written in heaven. What does that mean to you? How do you respond to such words? Spend some time today telling Jesus about how you feel when you hear these words spoken to you. How does He respond?
May God bless you with the assurance that your name is indeed written in heaven and you are special to Him.
