At some time in Church history someone added a few more words to the next phrase that Jesus taught. We will look at them today as well as the words in Scripture. They are included below in brackets:
Your kingdom come (Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven).Luke 11:2c
Today you are invited to consider what it means for God’s kingdom to come and for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. What difference would it make to your life, your work, your family, your world if you could live as if God’s kingdom had come and His will was being done here as it is in heaven? What stops this from happening? When you pray these words what do you mean by them? Have you ever stopped to consider them? Do so now. Ask God what He means and then consider what you will need to change for your part in this prayer to be fulfilled. Tell God about any obstacles you can see ahead, and ask Him to sort them out for you. How do you feel after this conversation?
May God bless you with evidence of His kingdom on earth and His will being done today in your life and in the lives of those around you.
