A woman called out a blessing on Jesus’ mother for giving Him birth. But Jesus responded:

Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it. Luke 11:28

Today you are invited to consider how you feel when Jesus says these words. How would you feel if a child or loved one of yours said them? Tell God. But then go on and consider how you feel about those who do hear and obey the word of God, sometimes to the detriment of their families. Where are you in these situations? How is God telling you to hear and respond to these words today? What can you do for your loved ones – and for God – to show how blessed you are by having them in your life?
