Jesus is love. But we need to respond to His love and not reject Him to be drawn into His Kingdom. He was speaking about being included. He warned of the urgency of responding to Him now and not delaying. He said there would come a time when the door of opportunity is closed:
‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ Then you will say, “We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’ But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’ Luke 13:25-27
Today you are invited to consider how it feels to be left out, rejected, a stranger. Where do you know you belong? Who do you know loves you? How do you feel knowing there are people who love you? How do you feel knowing there are people who don’t? Or that there are some people in your circle who do not feel loved? How can you extend love to the unlovable in your world today? A smile, an outreached hand, a few moments, a meal, a shared experience? What do you need from God to give you the courage and grace to reach out to those who do not seem to belong and include them in the circle of God’s people and His love today? He is calling you. Can you hear Him? What is He saying to you today?
May God bless you as you reach out to others for Him today and include them.
