Jesus told another story about two men who went to the Temple to pray. The Pharisee stood and thanked God that he was not like other men but followed the law. But the tax collector could not even bring himself to look up to heaven but beat his chest and prayed that God would have mercy on him because he was a sinner. Jesus said

I tell you that this man rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. Luke 18:14

Today you are invited to consider how you pray. Is your style that of the Pharisee (you can find the story in Luke 18:10-13) or is it like the tax collector? What is God saying to you today about the way you see yourself and the way you pray to Him. Spend some time listening. How will you respond to what He says?

May God bless you with enlightenment as to how He sees you and how He loves you.
