You are Invited

In the same way, after supper, (Jesus) took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you. But the hand of him who is going to betray me is with mine on the table. The Son of Man will go as it has been decreed. But woe to that man who betrays Him!’ Luke 22:20-23

Today you are invited to consider the course of these events. Jesus has just instituted a new covenant with His disciples. It is a holy moment. He then goes on to tell them that one of them is going to betray Him. They had no idea which one of them that would be and they go on to argue who is the greatest amongst them. When have important events happened in your spiritual life and you have been immediately distracted by the world and its demands? What calls you away from Church on a Sunday? What stops you from attending a Bible study or a class on Scripture? What prevents you from teaching at Sunday School, feeding the hungry, teaching the Word of God? How easily are you distracted? Speak to Jesus about these things. Ask Him to show you if He wants you to do something you have discounted as unimportant or not urgent. What does He say to you?

May God show you and bless you so you may hear the words ‘well done, good and faithful servant’.
