You are Invited

In response to the disciples argument about who was the greatest among them, Jesus said:

… the greatst among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves. Luke 22:26-27

Today you are invited to consider where, in your day to day life, you have seen the great and important people serve others; and the less important people being praised and exalted. How did you feel when that happened? Has it ever happened to you? How did that make you feel? Where can you serve those who would not expect to be served by you? How do you feel when someone serves you whom you feel you should be serving? What does Jesus say to you about this? How does it help or hinder your response to these situations?

May God bless you as you serve others – and give you the gift of graciousness when others serve you.
