The Call of the Kingdom

Challenged by God’s call on my life I was struggling to work out what He wanted and whether I was hearing Him correctly.  Shortly after writing this poem as a prayer He made it clear to me and I, however uncertainly, followed.  Looking back now I see how right it was that I did.  He led me to places in my heart and soul that I never realised existed.  He took me to places on this earth that I never thought I would see other than in my dreams.  Perhaps this poem describes how you are feeling at the moment.  If it does may I encourage you to spend time with God and listen for His voice.  He will show you the right way for He is the Way.

The call of the Kingdom

Can you hear the call of the Kingdom?

Is that Jesus calling you?

Sit still for a while and listen

Can it really be true?

Does the Lord want me to serve Him;

To do His work here on earth?

I don’t really feel very able

Yet my hands, for what they are worth,

Are His to reach out to others

To aid them wherever I can.

Lord, teach me the call of Your Kingdom

I want to help my fellow man.

Please call me whenever You need me

To work and to spread Your love here

For Your call is all that’s important

And everything that I hold dear.
