You are Invited

And now, dear children, continue in (Jesus), so that when He appears we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming.  1 John 2:28
Today you are invited to consider your habits and attitudes.  What do you do that is not strictly kind or honest?  What little words or actions escape you which make you secretly ashamed and yet you cannot stop saying or doing them?  What do you do when you are alone that you would prefer no one else sees?  Where do you go where you would prefer not to meet your next door neighbour or your colleague?  How are these things colouring your life?  How would you feel if you were saying those words, doing those things, or in those places if Jesus were suddenly to come again and walk into the room and hear you or see you there.  What would His reaction be?  Tell God about these things.  He knows, of course, but speak to Him about them nonetheless.  Tell Him about any struggles you have that stop you from changing – including, perhaps, the struggle of not wanting to change.
May God bless you as you bring these struggles to Him today
