This is another early poem. I had to make a decision that would affect my whole family – and God, as He always does, came through for me. I had cried out to Him in a turmoil of indecision. Two days later I wrote this poem, because as I had taken the terrifying step I felt He was guiding me to take, so He provided the answer – the answer that I had no inkling about when the decision was made. Sometimes we just have to step out in faith …
Guidance
Lord God, I lift my voice in praise
You lead me in Your gentle ways
Each step I take You’re by my side,
My Friend, Redeemer, Shepherd, Guide.
I praise You, with my heart and mind.
Each crisis in my life I find
Has been defused, my Lord, by You
You love is deep, Your friendship true.
And happenings that frighten me
Are not as bad as they could be
If I had need to face alone
These troubles, and Your love not know;
But I do know Your Love divine
Truly I know that Love is mine,
And so with words of joy and praise,
My voice in love, to You I raise.
