You are Invited

Oh, Lord, that you would bless me indeed, enlarge my territory, keep your hand upon me and protect me that I may not cause harm.  1 Chronicles 4:10

Today you are invited to consider what happens when you find you are blessed, your life in God’s service is going well, and you are aware of His hand guiding and blessing you.  How hard do you find it to remember that this is God’s work and not any success of your own? What harm could it do to you, to God, and to the work that He has given you if you begin to think that the success is due to your efforts rather than to Him?  How are you feeling about the work you are doing now?  How often do you give God the glory?  How do you feel about asking God for His protection that you may not cause harm? How would that change what you are doing and your attitude towards the way you serve Him?  Share your thoughts with Him.  What is He saying to you in reply?

May God bless you as He shows you where you need His protection to keep you from causing harm today.
