You are Invited

Listen, my (child) to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.  Proverbs 1:8

Yesterday we considered how we honour God.  Today you are invited to consider how you honour your parents.  Whatever your situation, what does this verse mean to you?  How do you relate to your parents – whether they are still alive or not?  What do they mean to you in life or in memory?  Talk to God about your relationship with your parents, whether it is good or bad.  What struggles do you have when you think of them?  What joy does it give you to be with them?  What pain is there in the relationship?  What warms your heart about them?  Spend time today with God as you consider your parents.

May God bless you with whatever healing you may need in regard to your relationship with your parents, and with joy that they did bring you into the world so that you could experience God’s love for you and know and follow Jesus.

About Mandy Hackland

My love in life is to encourage others to deepen their relationship with God. I write devotional material, stories and small group studies with that in mind. I live in South Africa and also love spending time in the bush, bird watching and walking. I have moved to the coast and am enjoying the green spaces and beautiful vistas that surround me, reminding me of God's grace every day.
