Honour your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.  Exodus 20:12

Today you are invited to think about your parents.  How are you honouring them?  If you never knew your parents or have had an unhappy relationship with them, spend some time with God your Father today.  What is He saying to you about them and your relationship?  If you had wonderful parents who are no longer with you, thank God for them; tell your children about them; give them the honour that is due to them for being loving parents.  If your loving parents are still alive, contact them today.  Do they know that you love them?  How can you affirm them?  Spend time with God too and thank Him for your loving parents – especially that they are still here to love you and for you to love.

May God bless you today with the awareness that He is your Father and you are His beloved child – whatever relationship you may have had with your earthly papers.
