But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. … (Jesus said) ‘… she, out of her poverty, put in everything – all she had to live on.’ Matthew 12:42, 44
Today you are invited to consider how much you actually give to God. Whether you are wealthy or poor does not matter. How does what you give affect you? Do you feel it impacting your budget, or is it a drop in the ocean? How do you feel about tithing and giving a percentage of your income on a regular basis? What about other areas of your life – your talents, your gifts, your time? Giving to God does not just involve money. What can you give to God that you are not at present giving? How will you give? Will you be delighted to help with the growth of His Kingdom through your service in dedicating your time, treasure and talents; or will you find it hard to part with such things because of what you will need to sacrifice as a result of doing so? Speak to God about these things. What does He want you to give? It may be that you are giving enough; or that there are areas of your life He wants you to give that you have not considered before. What is He saying to you today – and how will you respond?
May God bless you as you give to Him in whatever way you can today.
