You are Invited

“Truly, I tell you,” He continued, “no prophet is accepted in His hometown.”  Luke 4:24

Today you are invited to consider how these words are relevant in your life.  What do you do for Jesus that is influencing others, but which seems to have no effect on those with whom you live and work.  How do you feel about this?  How do those feelings change when you hear Jesus saying these words to you?  What specific prayer do you have about your ministry, your family, and anyone else who lives in your ‘hometown’ who have difficulty in accepting who you are and what you do for Christ.  Speak to God about these things today.  What is His reply?

May God bless you in your work for Him – whether you have the support of your family or not.

About Mandy Hackland

My love in life is to encourage others to deepen their relationship with God. I write devotional material, stories and small group studies with that in mind. I live in South Africa and also love spending time in the bush, bird watching and walking. I have moved to the coast and am enjoying the green spaces and beautiful vistas that surround me, reminding me of God's grace every day.
