You are Invited

So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place. Mark 6:32

Today you are invited to consider when you last went to a solitary place.  If you were to do so today, where would you go? Would it be unusual for you to do so, or do you live alone? How does the idea of going away alone make you feel? What would you do when you arrived there? Solitude is different from loneliness.  Speak to God about your feelings, then ask Him to take you to a place where you can draw aside for a while and enjoy an hour (or longer) in solitude when the only other being there is God Himself. Whatever your circumstances, ask God to help you turn your busyness into silence and your aloneness into solitude for a while.

May God bless you with the gift of silence and His peace as you seek your own solitary place today.
