You are Invited

His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever He tells you.’ John 2:5

Today you are invited to consider who you trust to follow through on what you ask them to do to help you. Mary trusted Jesus, even though He did not agree to help. Who do you rely on? How can you pray for these people today? And who do you know you may have to ask repeatedly? How can you pray for them today? What will you ask God for in regard to these two groups of people? How does He reply?

May God bless you with people you can rely on in your life.

In verse 4 it sounds like Jesus was chastising His mother but in verse 5 Mary tells the servants to do whatever He says. Maybe he said what He said with a smile on His face. I love your posts and I’m not trying to add to anything but when I read these verses I wondered why would she say do whatever He says when He said His time hasn’t come yet.

    • Yes, it is a puzzle – but Jesus loved his mother, and sometimes the twinkle in an eye does not come through in Scripture. Jesus was a man of joy and I am sure laughter was part of his life – my opinion – but I find it difficult to think of him being serious all the time. Some may not agree but this is how I see him. God bless you.
