When evening came, His disciples went down to the lake, where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. John 6:16-18

Today you are invited to consider what happens when you set off on a planned route without consulting Jesus. What happens when you rely on your own strength? Do it your way? Ignore the nudgings you feel deep inside you? How successful are you? What happens when things get rough? Do you ask Jesus first before you start to make plans; or do you make plans and then ask Jesus to bless them? Which way have you found to be the best? What are you planning at the moment? Have you consulted Jesus? What is He saying to you about these plans?
