I wrote this poem years ago when this land was going through a time of strife that had us all on our knees. And Jesus came through and answered our prayers in miraculous ways. At the end of 2017, as 2018 begins to dawn on the horizon, I thought, perhaps this might be a good question to ask ourselves as we have just celebrated Christmas, the coming of God Incarnate, and now go forward into the New Year. I pray it blesses you during the coming year.
Where do I see Jesus Incarnate?
In loving eyes and gentle smiles
That reach across the lonely miles
When I am sad and out of sorts
And peace is distant to my thoughts –
That is where I see my Lord today.
Where do I see Jesus Incarnate?
In people whom I scarcely know
Who reach out hands to help me, though
It means they have to change their plan
But they will help each girl and man –
That is where I see my Lord today.
Where do I see Jesus Incarnate?
On Peace Day when the petrol man
Took off his hat, put down his can
Cried his tears and prayed his prayer
For peace with all the others there –
That is where I see my Lord today.
Where do you see Jesus Incarnate?
I ask myself do others see,
Perhaps, my Saviour here in me?
My goal in life I humbly pray
Is just to hear my Saviour say
‘I saw Myself in you, today.’
That is beautiful and my wish for you and for me too!
God bless.
