The reason My Father loves Me is that I lay down My life – only to take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father. John 10:17-18

Today you are invited to consider that Jesus gave His life for you voluntarily because His Father asked Him to do so. How do you feel when you think about such love? There was love between the Father and the Son; but also the love the Father and Son have for you. To sacrifice a Son out of love for another is a gift few of us would willingly give. To lay down a life for another is described as ‘no greater love’. How does such love make you feel? What do you want to say to Jesus today in the light of His love for you?
