Which of you parents, if your son or daughter asks for a fish, will give them a snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, will give them a scorpion? Luke 11:12

Today you are invited to consider the gifts you give to the people you love. How do you choose them? How do you decide how much to spend? What is enough? How much time do you spend wrapping or making these gifts? Why do you want to make them special? What does it say about your relationship with the recipient? Sometimes, it may just be a gift of words. How do kind words become a gift to those to whom they are said? How can you encourage someone today with words, or a small gift, whether home-made or purchased? What is important about the gift – the cost or the love? Who is God bringing to your mind who needs some sort of gift, letter, phone call today?
