You are Invited

Jesus continued speaking to the people in his hometown synagogue. He knew the resistance He would face. He said

‘Truly I tell you,’ Jesus continued, ‘no prophet is accepted in his home town …‘ Luke 4:24

Today you are invited to consider how those who live and work around you view you as you live out your faith. Where do you see them resisting the ministry you are called to undertake for Jesus? How do they acknowledge the work you do for the Lord? Do you find it a challenge to minister to those who know you well – your family, your friends – or are you able to help them as easily as you can someone who is not as close to you? How does Jesus’ acknowledgement of the challenges even He faced in His home town make you feel? What specific challenge are you facing at the moment in this regard? Tell Him about it. What does He reply?

May God bless you in your ministry to others, even in your home town.
