Jesus goes on to address the experts in the law when they complain:

And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them. Luke 11:46

Today you are invited to consider what you expect of others. How high do you set the standard of what you ask them to do? Is it a standard you would keep yourself? How do you react when they meet your expectations – and how do you respond when they do not? What does this say about your relationship with Jesus to them? What is God saying to you in regard to this verse? How will you respond?
