Jesus tells His companions the story of the shepherd who lost a sheep and left the other ninety-nine in his flock to find the one which was lost. Everyone celebrated when the sheep was found. Jesus went on to say:

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15:7

Today you are invited to spend a moment thinking about the party that was thrown in heaven at the moment you turned and accepted Christ as your Saviour and were drawn into His flock. Think of the singing, the dancing, the hugging. Everyone you know who has gone ahead of you would have been laughing and crying with joy. And probably some whom you don’t know. Those whom you helped, or smiled at, or spoke to when they were struggling. The lonely one, the sick one, the frightened one, the frustrated one. All celebrating in heaven because you said ‘yes’ to Jesus. Who do you know who has not yet had a party in heaven? Speak to Jesus about that person (or people) today and ask Him to help you to find them and draw them into His flock. Ask Him to show you the way. Then, praising God for the party that will be held when they do accept Him, follow His lead so you can be their guide.

May you celebrate the people whom you know who have already turned to Jesus as their Lord, and seek those whom He has brought to mind that more parties may be held in heaven. May you be the channel God uses who leads them there.
